Auburn's Pirate Adventure
1-10-03

It all began long ago, when a wench by the name o' Kim stumbled across the Royaliste and her crew berthed at Jack London Square in Oakland. Kim took one look at the Royaliste and declared that an accord must be struck betwixt herself and the captain in order to secure her daughter a proper education in piracy. So an accord was promptly struck, and in the proud tradition of piratical parenting, Kim arranged to have her daughter Auburn kidnapped by pirates for her 16th birthday!

When the Great Day came, our pirates left the ship and went ashore to find Auburn, who had been entrusted with a treasure map. We found Auburn and her crew quickly enough, as teenage girls dressed as pirates tend to stand out in a place like Sausalito. We bound the luckless pirate girls by the wrists and managed to drag them to the ship, despite one nearly successful escape attempt on the part of the pirate girls!

About twenty minutes into the sail, Auburn proclaimed that she ought to have brought her mum, so the ship was promptly returned to port to pick up the adults, who were much relieved to see that the girls were alive and well, but discovered that they had turned pirate and were climbing the rigging of the ship!

So we set sail a second time and had a wonderful time, firing flintlocks, taunting tourist ferry boats and firing the cannons! Auburn displayed her new-found piratical skills firing a flintlock, firing a cannon and steering the ship with a talent that made all the pirates shake their heads with wonder that she hadn't been doing it all her life!

Finally the pirates returned to port, where Auburn and her crew were made to read the treasure map and locate the buried pirate treasure! A mysterious silver box was unearthed in a park in Sausalito, wence the pirates plundered their take from the treasure and bid Auburn, Kim and the other newly-initiated pirates farewell.
