Our Sea Battle With The Hawaiian Chieftain

Unfortunately, we were having so much fun and were so wrapped up in the action that we took
only a few photos during the sea battle. None of them do justice, I am afraid, to what was
one of the most exciting times we've had. We sailed with Gary Bergman, captain of the tall
ship 'The Royaliste', on San Francisco Bay. We kept hidden in a cove, and waited until the
Hawaiian Chieftain came into view as they headed towards Angel Island where they were
to engage in battle with Civil War reenactors. The battle ensued, with the Hawaiian Chieftain
passing back and forth between the guns of the Royaliste and the cannons of the reenactors on
shore! Those of us who participated in the battle agreed- It just doesn't get any better than this!!
